ZANZIBAR ARCHIPELAGO SCUBA SAFARIS

We use the beautiful Fundu Lagoon Resort on Pemba Island, which is reached by air taxi flight from Zanzibar Island (Unguja). Pemba Island is 80 Kilometers NE of Zanzibar.

The Island archipelago of Zanzibar consists of two main islands- Pemba and Unguja, plus some 50 smaller islands. Many people incorrectly refer to Unguja as Zanzibar. This island group has been ruled by many people over the centuries-the Sultans of Oman, Portuguese, British and today it is part of independent Tanzania. In the past, the islands had been a depot for the trade in Ivory and Slaves from the interior of Africa, today they are a major producer of Cloves and a growing tourist trade.

After your Safari with us we recommend this side trip to the exotic spice Islands of East Africa. Kenya Airways flies to Zanzibar (via Nairobi) every day, departing Entebbe 10:30am. So you must spend another night at Boma Guest house after ending your safari with us and then continue on the next day.

After arriving at the Zanzibar Airport, you transfer to an air taxi flight to Chake Chake Airport on Pemba Island (30 min flight), then a taxi takes you to the pier (45 min drive), then the resort's skiff takes you to the resort (25 min boat ride). The Air Taxi Zanzibar to Pemba has a maximum baggage limit (including carry-on) of 15 kilos- overweight is €1 per kilo.

On the day of return Kenya Airways departs Zanzibar at 2:55 pm daily for Nairobi.
