On the border with Uganda is Nimule National Park. The Nile River cuts along the eastern border of the park for 48 kilometers. The road from Uganda to Juba cuts along the eastern border of the park next to the Nile. The park has 41,000 hectares or 101,270 acres and was originally created to protect the White Rhino, which is now extinct. The park is the most accessable of Southern Sudan's parks. A three hour drive from Juba, on a newly reconstructed road, makes visiting the park, all year, possible.

A herd of elephant have made the park their home, realizing they are safe in the park. Most often they are found on an island in the Nile called Opekoloe. This herd of about 100 animals wanders back and forth across the border with Uganda.

Nile Crocodile

Crocodile, Duiker, Hippo, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Oribi, Leopard, Baboon, Vervet monkey, Warthog, and incredible bird life exist in the park.

This safari is designed for people with little time or as an extension to our famous 12 day safari to Boma National Park. There are no set dates for this safari, you tell us when.

DAY 1: Arrive Juba airport. Greet and pick up at the airport, transport to the AFEX hotel on the banks of the Nile Rver. First meal lunch. Afternoon wrestling Dinka wrestling match at the hotel.

DAY 2: After breakfast depart for Nimule, 3 hours drive. Set up a tented camp on bank of the Nile River across from the park, with tents, cot beds, cook, field kitchen, ice maker, tables, chairs, latrin, shower. In Afternoon visit the park .

DAY 3: Take the park's motor launch on the Nile to search for wildlife.

Day 4: After breakfast, break camp and drive back to Juba and the AFEX hotel.
